The Ocean City Power Squadron is a community based
non-profit boating organization. We are a group of men and women
living on
Maryland's Eastern Shore
dedicated to improve boating education, boating safety and friendly
boating. Whether your interests are in yachts, small power boats,
personal water craft, sailing vessels, canoeing, kayaking or rafting, we
are here for you. Being affiliated with the
United States Power Squadrons®,
which was organized in 1914, our purpose is to provide
community service programs and safe boating education to the general public through our
Public Boating Courses
and
Seminars.
Educational Guides/Booklets
and more in-depth training is offered to our members through a
complete boating education
curriculum and the
USPS University. We
have a
vessel examination program
where free vessel safety checks are provided to both members and the
general public. Additionally, our members continually assist NOAA
in producing accurate up-to-date nautical charts of the local waters
through our
cooperative
charting program.
The Ocean City Power Squadron also sponsors a wide variety of
social activities
for members and guests which include
raft-ups, cruises, picnics and dinner events.
Visitors to this web page are encouraged to investigate our educational and vessel examination programs. We encourage visitors to explore the membership opportunities available to one when joining the Ocean City Power Squadron and the many benefits and discounts one receives when being affiliated with the USPS Organization. Squadron members are asked to provide suggestions for this web page to the webmaster or any member of the Bridge.
